This snake is a decorative sculpture made of seed beads and wire. It is flexible and can be wiggled around without doing it any harm; although it is not a toy and won't survive exessive rough handling.

The smooth snake is a very rare reptile in the UK, found in only a few areas of sandy heathland. While it looks not entirely unlike an adder, it lacks the zigzag pattern along its back and is entirely non-venomous. They prey mainly on lizards, and unlike many snakes do not lay eggs, instead giving birth to live young.
