Product Details

This nudibranch is a decorative sculptures made of size 11 glass seed beads and thread. It is flexible and can be draped over things, waved around or gently squeezed without it doing it any harm; although it is not a toy and won't survive exessive rough handling.

As with all of my beadwork, this sea slug comes with a signed specimen card telling you a bit about the species.

Hypselodoris is a genus of nudibranch, a group of shell-less marine gastropods commonly referred to as sea slugs. Nudibranch means naked gill, as unlike many marine animals they don't have a protective covering for their gills, but instead retract them into the body when threatened. The purple sea slug is found in the West Pacific, and feeds on only a few species of sponge.
